If you want to make money as a typist you need to brush up on your typing skills before you enter the job market. What better way to do that than to take advantage of one of the many online typing tests that are available. Here are some guidelines to get you started. Be sure your computer meets the system requirements. Many online typing tests need Pentium III or higher computers with a minimum of 64MB of memory. Download the necessary software for taking the typing tests, such as JavaScript (see link in Resources). If your Internet browser doesn’t support JavaScript look for those sites that offer both Java and non-JavaScript typing tests. Find an online typing test that allows practice attempts.
