How Do You Take Action To Prevent School Violence?
• Help out any students who are having trouble. Give them your support. Are they mad because they are being bullied? Instead of getting them a counselor for that, prevent them from being bullied in the first place by reporting them to the principal or assistant principal. Recognize the warning signs of violence; • Engages in risky activity, such as recreational drugs, tobacco, sex, alcohol and disobeys other school rules and or the law • Has a destructive mood; hurts animals, destroys property and makes threats or bullies • Obsession with suicide and death; shows interest for weapons or violence in writing, drawing or conversations • Report any suspicious activity, anonymously if you feel uncomfortable. Do you know or have you heard of any students planning violent acts on the school? Have you seen or heard of anyone bringing weapons to school?
