Although the most important part of a computer is undoubtedly the CPU, a close second is the keyboard. Without it there isn’t much you can accomplish on a computer. Whether you need to deep clean the keyboard, repair an internal component or you spilled something and need to get inside the unit, it’s relatively easy to take apart a keyboard. Decide if you need to get under the computer keys. Underneath the key is where the computer chip and the button is for that specific key, so there may be no need to take the entire keyboard apart if there’s a problem with only one key. Pop the key off by using a small to medium sized screwdriver. Place the flat end under the edge of the key and use gentle pressure. Pull the screwdriver up until the key cover pops off. Flip the keyboard over and locate the screws normally on the outside edge of the keyboard.
