How Do You Take A Compaq Presario Notebook Apart?
If you own a Presario notebook computer, learning to take that computer apart will make it easier to service the unit on your own. Having the ability to service your own computer can save you a great deal of money. By doing the work yourself you can save money and avoid a lot of hassles. Turn your Presario notebook off and disconnect the AC power cord. Turn the notebook upside down, locate the battery release lever and release the battery. Take the battery out of the notebook and set it aside. Remove the screw that holds the memory module cover in place, then loosen the cover with a small flat head screwdriver. Set the cover and the screw aside in a safe place, then remove the memory modules and set them aside as well. Locate the hard drive enclosure and remove the retaining screw. Push the release lever and pull the hard drive free of its housing. Set the hard drive aside.
