When we were younger, we took tackling those home projects in stride. We were able to spend Saturday morning cutting the grass, washing the car and putting together a swing set. Then we’d shower up, get the barbecue going and entertain our guests into the late evening hours. Yes, when we were younger … well, now that we are seniors, we need to take a different approach to our home projects. The mind is willing, but the body is a little less cooperative. We can no longer run the project marathon on a Saturday; we have to do the project walkathon, one step at a time. Make a list of the projects that you have around your home that you are confident you can do yourself. You will find that you will have both inside and outside projects. Prioritize this list in order of importance. Break down painting projects into realistic segments that you can physically handle.
