How Do You Swap Out Jeep Engines?
Jeep engines come in a few different sizes. The process for removing the engine and replacing the engine are the same. The engine in a Jeep is under constant stress and will eventually seize up and stop working. You will need an engine hoist and a few more tools and the right knowledge to swap out the engine on your Jeep the correct and safe way. Also having a friend helping you through out this job will make this project easier. Place the drain pan underneath the radiator. Remove the radiator hose at the bottom of the radiator with the pliers. Let the radiator drain completely into the drain pan. Remove the radiator. Loosen the power steering mounting nut with the ratchet set. Place the cup under the power steering pump, remove the hose from the pump and let the pump drain into the cup. Remove the bolts that are mounting the power steering pump to the engine and pull the power steering pump off of the engine compartment.
