Studying for a map test involves memorization through repetition. Since many of the places may be unfamiliar to you and could be located in a part of the world you have never traveled to, it may be difficult to learn how to spell and pronounce the names. With consistent practice and this helpful study technique, you will soon be able to identify all the points on your map. Prepare a study map. Take the list of places you must learn and write them all down on a map. If you need help finding them, use a world atlas (if you don’t have one on hand, an online option is listed under Additional Resources below). Set your study map aside in a location that is out of sight, but keep it available for quick reference while you are studying.
