How Do You Store Peeled Garlic Cloves?
Traditional kitchen wisdom dictates that garlic must be peeled just prior to using it. But if you use a little creativity and culinary know-how, you can peel your garlic in advance and store it for a virtually limitless amount of time. Just follow these steps to put this secret to work in your kitchen. Peel your garlic and separate all of the cloves. Put the cloves into an airtight glass container such as a mason jar. Pour olive oil over the cloves. Keep pouring until all of the cloves are completely submerged. Replace the cap or lid to the container and store in a cool, dry place. As long as the cloves stay completely covered with the oil, they will stay fresh. When you need one or two cloves, use a spoon to fish them out of the oil. Allow the excess to drip back into the container.
