The movement of the water is significant in keeping algae from growing. Keep drains free of debris that can cause blockage and obstruct water flow. Check disinfectant and pH levels daily. The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention recommend checking these levels at least twice a day and maintaining a pH level in the range of 7.2 to 7.8. Keep the proper level of disinfectant in proportion to the amount of water volume of the pool. The water must flow through the disinfectant to be treated.
