The simple answer to this is not to use the cheap everyday sealant,buy purpose made sealant like Mapei or unibond,they are more expensive but you only get what you pay for, I would remove the sealant that’s there now and apply one of the above,you can buy sealant remover which makes it easy,when you apply the new sealant there are a couple of things you can do to make a nice finish,firstly,don’t cut the nozzle off so that the hole is too big as you will end up with sealant everywhere,the hole in the nozzle needs to be just bigger than the gap your’e filling and secondly have a cup with some water and washing up liquid in it so that when you’ve applied the sealant you can use your finger to smooth it off,dip your finger in the cup and the liquid prevents the sealant from pulling/being dragged,this is how I do it now and it always makes a good job,also don’t mess about playing with it,just grab your sealant gun,apply the sealant,wipe with your finger and then leave it,if you’ve never don
