How Do You Stop Poison Ivy From Itching?
If you have poison ivy, poison oak or the like, you’ve probably been putting everything under the sun on it to relieve the itch. The most effective thing I’ve ever done for the itch was absolutely amazing! It worked, cost nothing and actually was quite pleasurable! Turn your faucet or bath tub to warm/hot water. I found that when the breakout is somewhere that is difficult to reach, the removable spray hose from the kitchen sink worked well. As soon as the water is hot, place the infected area under the water. As soon as you adjust to the heat, slowly increase the heat of the water. You want to get the temperature at a level to where you can barely stand it. Let the water run over the infected area for about 1 minute or longer. The heat opens your pores and draws out all of the antihistamine which causes the itch. The itch will be gone for 6-8 hours.
