Cats love to chew. During the Christmas season families are busy putting up Christmas trees and decorating them. It isn’t long before the families notice that their cats are chewing away at the Christmas tree. It doesn’t matter whether the Christmas tree is real or artificial. This chewing can ruin branches, ornaments and even lead to the Christmas tree falling over. There are some things you can do to stop your cat from chewing on the Christmas tree. Place some rubbing alcohol in an empty spray bottle and spray the bottom branches of the Christmas tree. Cats will take one bite of this and run away. If the taste is horrible to cats, they won’t continue the behavior. Wrap pieces of aluminum foil around the base of your Christmas tree. Add some to a few of the bottom branches.
