How Do You Stay Focused In Class?

• Speak to your mind. If you’re worrying about a million things while trying to do a class paper, tell your thoughts you’ll get back to them later. While it sounds weird, if you map out your thinking time, you will feel as if you don’t have to juggle all your thoughts at once. Try writing a list of all non-study things on you mind, then promise to do them later. • Clear the decks. You can’t expect your brain to focus if there’s heaps of stuff on your desk. Have a spring clean to create minimal distractions. • If you find your mind starts to wander in class, look at the clock. Tell yourself to focus on your teacher for the next 10 minutes. If you’re truly focusing, you won’t notice the 10 minute pass! Continue doing this every 10 minutes until it is not needed. Eat well, sleep lots and exercise and you’ll be way more focused. Your brain needs the energy and rest to perform at its best.
