The pods contain brown, oval-shaped seeds about 1/2 inch in length. Mimosa pods ripen in late August through September and begin to disintegrate soon after, however the pods remain on the tree well into winter. Mimosa trees are easily propagated from seeds. Gather seeds from well established, mature trees. Seeds from young trees may be immature and not germinate. Dry seeds and store in air tight containers.
