Nitro engines used in remote controlled (RC) vehicles are internal combustion engines that burn a blend of nitro methane, methanol and oil. These engines generate immense power (sometimes up to 3 horsepower) and run at high revolutions, often exceeding 30,000 rpms. Nitro engines come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes and are made by numerous manufacturers. The basic procedure to start them up, however, is the same regardless of model and size.
