SourceForge provides hosting for open source software projects. It provide services like web hosting, file download hosting, Concurrent Versions System (CVS) developer source code access, bug tracking, mailing lists and forums. These services are provided for free as long as the software remains free. Create a SourceForge.net account, if you don’t already have one. The account is free and doesn’t take long to create. Click on “Create Account” at the top of the page and follow the directions. Write software, whether it’s just a prototype, a design document or a statement of the goals of the software. In order to start a project, you need some something to upload. Generally, a programmer writes a very rough prototype of the software before starting the SourceForge project. Log into your SourceForge account or go to your SourceForge home page if you’re already logged in. Click on “Register a new project.” Read the “Project Registration: Overview” page.
