• Make sure you know WHY you want to start your own business. If your first answer is “to make more money”, then dig deeper. Ask yourself what you want to do with the extra money. When you have a strong reason why you’ll have enough internal drive to keep you going and have the “never give up” attitude that you’ll need to succeed over the long term. • Make sure the affiliate program you choose is within your marketing budget and that it can realistically provide a return on your marketing investment. Some programs require $3,000 to $8,000 upfront investments in services. Most are more modest in the $20 to $150 per month range. • Find a good mentor who can guide you.
