Starting a swimming pool pump after the winter months may take a little priming. Before you begin to reassemble your pool, sweep or hose all debris and dirt from the cover and the deck. Turn the electric power on, and start the support system. Keep your owner’s manual handy to reference if there are any problems, such as leaks. Test and adjust the pH in the pool. Shock the pool if necessary, and run the pump for 24 hours a day at the beginning of the season. If your pool was closed properly, you should have a fairly easy time restoring the pool Open all return side valves and incoming valves. If necessary, lubricate O-rings and valves. Check the pump basket to make sure it is filled with water. If empty, add water from the pool or a hose. Tightly replace the pump lid. Check for any leaks out of the pump. Ensure that all valves are open. Place the filter valve in the proper position. Position the push-pull valves up for Pac-Fab and filters down for most DE filters. Turn multi-port valve
