Remove the stamp from the envelope by carefully cutting around the stamp, leaving a margin on all sides of at least a quarter inch (about 5 mm). Float the stamps (printed side up) in a sink or basin filled with water. Boiling water works best but be careful not to burn yourself. Cold water also works, but takes a little longer. Allow the stamps to float off the paper. Using the tweezers, carefully remove the stamps. Place the stamps face-down on the side of the sink or basin, or on a sheet of paper. Use the paintbrush to carefully remove any remaining glue from the back of the stamps. Place the stamps between the two sheets of blotting paper to blot dry.
