How Do You Start A Fastpitch Softball League?
Fastpitch softball is a lot of fun for children and a great source of exercise. Slightly less competitive than Little League baseball, boys and girls both play in their own leagues. If fastpitch softball does not exist in your community, consider starting a league. Contact your local recreation commission to present your idea. Since most local fastpitch softball teams participate within the umbrella of a community oversight committee, you can benefit from financial support, free advertising and recruitment. Organize an initial interest meeting with parents of children or adults who would like to play. Your league should have enough players for at least 5 full teams to compete. Give yourself some time to recruit players as long as there is a strong general interest.
