How do you stand on the so-called “Wedge Issues” like fluoride, City-County consolidation, and changing the Memorial Campus lease?
I am pretty mainstream. I am pro-fluoridation, but I believe that the issue should be left up to the electorate in a referendum. Furthermore, I favor the more active use of referendum on controversial issues. I am for facilitating changes which would enhance the possibility of reinforcing this area as a regional health care center, including the construction of specialty clinics at the Memorial Campus. I am pro-consolidation. However, I hope that the campaign debate will not be limited to these issues and intend to make sure that we have a wide-ranging debate on ALL of the issues important to the City.
