How Do You Stain & Polish A Concrete Countertop?
Concrete counter tops have a natural beauty, they’re cost effective and they’re stainable. Staining your concrete counter top allows you to show your creativity and instill your own sense of style, color and design into your kitchen or bath. There are two types of stains: acid based and water based, and here you’ll learn how to apply a water-based stain. These stains don’t require neutralization or protection from toxic fumes. Water-based stains also provide a much wider selection of colors. Clean the counter with a clean sponge and a mixture of 1 cup TSP and 4 gallons of water. Cover the counter backsplash, sink, stove and any other areas that need protection from the stain with tape and your choice of covering. Allow the counter top to dry, preferably overnight. For best staining results, the counter top must be completely dry. Check the label to see if your stain should be diluted with water before painting. Some brands may require this, others can be used directly from the can. Pai
