How Do You Spot Clean A Microsuede Comforter?
Most microsuede comforters have three words written on the tags when it comes to cleaning them: “Dry Clean Only.” Even for a twin-size comforter, often this is an expensive proposition. Although microsuede can usually be cleaned in the washer with a delicate or gentle cycle and turn out fine, drowning a stain spot with plain water to clean the blanket isn’t a good idea as it will leave watermarks. Since microsuede is a form of microfiber, a synthetic polyester fabric, the same methods for cleaning microfiber work for cleaning microsuede. Apply rubbing alcohol to a microfiber cloth and dab the spot, working from the outside of the spot inward so as to not spread the spot further. Mix enough baking soda and water to form a paste with a consistency that is more solid than liquid. It should feel like damp baking soda.
