Assemble the stake-mounted timer. Insert the stake into the base of the unit and press the stake into the soil. You may wish to conceal the timer unit near shrubbery or amongst garden plants. Some units have a green plastic housing, and will blend in quite nicely with your landscaping. Plug the timer into your exterior power outlet.
