It is relatively easy but may take a few tries, so remain patient. Follow the tips below. Begin with a handful of fibers. The fibers should be at least 3 inches long. Wool is the easiest to use, and wool roving can be found at many craft stores. Hook the fibers with the end of your hook. The number of fibers you hook will depend on the desired thickness of the finished yarn. Twist the spindle slowly and carefully, pulling softly. Continue this until about 2 feet has been spun. Do not twist too much or too little. Practice, and trial and error will help identify what the right tautness is. Remove the spun yarn from the hook and twist around the spindle. Finger spin about 1 foot more of yarn, and then pinch the roving to prevent any more feeding. Twist the spindle. Then tuck it either under your arm or between your knees
