How Do You Speed Weave European 4-In-1 Chain Mail?
This is a simple speed weaving method for European 4-in-1 that has served me well. Speed weaving methods save you time, and when you’re working with chain mail, even a little time can add up. Close four rings and hook them on an open ring. Close the open ring. This is your basic unit. Repeat step one until you have a good pile of units. Start connecting your units. Flatten two units so you have two rings on one side and two on the other, and arrange them vertically, like in the picture. If you’re not familiar with European 4-in-1, the important thing is to make sure your piece can lie flat; all the rings need to be going in the same direction within each row. Look at the picture closely – the rings point down, then up, then down. Hook the top two rings of one unit, then the bottom two rings of the other. Continue until you have your desired length. To widen your weave, just add rows horizontally. Hook an open ring through two rings from your first row, and two rings from another unit.
