How Do You Soften & Seperate Cabbage Leaves Without Boiling Water For Stuffed Cabbage Rolls?

0

This is an easy way to soften and seperate your cabbage leaves without the trouble of boiling them, for stuffed cabbage rolls. Core the cabbage heads with a pairing knife, making sure to remove all of the tough white core. Rinse the cabbage heads well to saturate them with water removinhg any browned outer leaves before freezing. Place each cored rinsed cabbage head in a plastic grocery bag with the core side up. Then tie the top closed tightly. Freeze the cored wet cabbage heads for at least 3 days so that they have sufficient time to freeze completely, remove them and thaw at room temperature the day you will make the cabbage rolls. Seperate outer leaves and pat dry with paper towels. Save the smaller inner leaves for another cabbage recipe. Lay a cabbage leaf flat, cut out any remaining thick white core, and slice in half lengthwise. The leaves are now seperated and ready to role!
