How Do You Soak Synthetic Hair In Fabric Softeners?

0

Synthetic hair is used in wigs, extensions and dolls. Though inexpensive, synthetic hair lacks much of its softness, texture and versatility of human hair. It is especially prone to becoming dry, frizzy and brittle. For this reason, it is all the more important to regularly care for and maintain synthetic hair in order to prolong its lifespan. Soaking synthetic hair in an ordinary liquid fabric softener can help to improve its feel and remedy knots and tangles. Prepare a solution of one part liquid fabric softener to three parts cool water in a small basin. You may use more or less fabric softener, depending on how dry or damaged the synthetic hair is. If you are soaking a wig, be advised that scented fabric softeners can potentially irritate the scalp. Soak the synthetic hair in the solution for at least 30 minutes. Avoid rubbing at the hair during this time as doing so can potentially cause damage. Rinse excess fabric softener from the hair with cool water. Allow the hair to air dry.
