How Do You Size A Baseball Mitt?
Baseball–the great American pastime–requires only a few essential gear items to play: ball, bat and mitt. Properly fitting a baseball mitt to the hand, no matter what position you play, is essential if the mitt is to be used effectively. Though sizing charts are available for all mitts, fit is highly individualistic, so it is important to be able to size a mitt yourself–a task that can be performed with the aid of a flexible tape measure. Measure your hand with a tape measure. Place your hand flat on a table and measure–in inches–from the heel to the index finger tip. Add two inches to your measurement, then choose a glove to match the measurements. Place your hand on the back of the mitt and measure to see if there are at least two inches between the tips of your fingers and the tip of the glove.
