How Do You Simulate Cave Drawings Lesson Plan?
The study of cave drawings helps students understand early life. Help them make their own version that they can take home with them. Study the cave drawings. Read books like “Grunt, the Primitive Cave Boy” by Timothy Bush or “Talking Walls” by Margy Burns Knight. Explore web sites like “The Cave of Lascaux”, “The Cave of Chauvet -Pont-d Arc” or “The Cosquer Cave”. Have class discussions about what they drew and why they may have chosen their subjects. Collect brown grocery bags or buy either brown craft paper or brown packaging paper. Gently crumple the paper to simulate the roughness of the cave wall. Draw the picture based on either history, or what would meet the same values in the student’s life today. After the drawings are completed, spray them with a spray fixative or hair spray. When they are done, hang them on the walls of your cave, ah, I mean room.
