How Do You Show In The Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA)?
If you’re one of the many horse crazy kids entering college and have grown up around horses or perhaps you’ve never gotten a chance to ride in the past but have always wanted to find a way to participate, the IHSA is a great program for you! Over 370 colleges across the United States participate in the IHSA program which is divided into zones. If you’re not sure if your college or university participates you can check on www.ihsainc.com and find contact information for your team and the trainer or coach representing the team. Get in contact with the coach or captain of the team. The great thing about the IHSA is you don’t have to own your own horse to show. The basis of the competition is travelling to different shows as a team and riding on horses that you’ve never been on. It’s an equal playing field since everyone is required to ride horses they aren’t familiar with.
