Introduced in 1994, the Timex Data Link series of watches enables the wearer to transmit information to a personal computer where it can be edited and transferred back to the watch. Depending on which Timex Data Link model you own, your watch can store up to 150 names and contact numbers. If the band on your Timex Data Link is a few links too large, you can easily remove the excess links to shorten the watchband. Find a clean, flat workspace where you can shorten the strap on your Timex Data Link watch. Choose an adequately lit workspace or reposition a desk lamp to better illuminate the band’s tiny components. Lay your watch face down on an optical cleaning cloth to protect the face from being scratched. Turn your attention to the side of your Timex Data Link watchband without the watch clasp.
