How Do You Shorten Bamboo Matchstick Blinds?
Bamboo matchstick blinds are great for dressing up windows that would be too plain with normal mini blinds. However, bamboo matchstick blinds generally come in lengths that may be too long for smaller windows. Shortening matchstick blinds is a simple process. Measure the length of the window with a tape measure. Make sure to extend the tape measure to the point you’d like the blinds to hit if that point is a couple inches below the bottom of the window. Roll out the bamboo matchstick blinds on a flat surface, such as a floor or tabletop. Measure from the top of the blinds to the point where the blinds should end. Mark the spot with a pencil. Measure four inches down from the pencil marking and make a second mark. Cut the blinds horizontally along the second pencil marking. Set the bottom half of the blinds aside. Unravel the bamboo matchstick slats, starting at the bottom and stopping at the first pencil mark. Discard the unraveled slats; the ends of the strings used to hold the slats
