As a seasoned thrifter, I have developed a strategy for saving time and money when shopping for clothes in a second-hand shop. Use your local phone book to locate the thrift shops in your area. Depending on how much time you have to shop, allow 30-45 minutes to spend in each store. When you enter the store, take a minute or two to do a walk-through and get a general idea of the store’s layout. If you are looking for in-season clothing items, narrow your search down to the type of items you are looking for–long-sleeved, short-sleeved, sleeveless, pants, shorts, skirts… Narrow your search down again by color.
