How Do You Shoot Beautiful Outdoor Portraits That Simply “Glow”?
• Get a good camera: virtually any 35mm camera with interchangeable lens will do. With the rise of digital cameras these are now VERY affordable. Consider purchasing a used camera and optics. • If possible use the normal (50mm lens). This lens has the best optics (by far) and allows you to shoot in dim light without a flash. DO NOT use a zoom lens – bad optics and they require too much light. • Buy SLOW film – the lower the ISO the better. 100 is best but 200 will do. DO NOT use 400 or higher speed film, the grain on fast film is unacceptable in fine portraits. • look at how the sky background glows and looks so real Shoot ONLY in the 30-45 minute window AFTER the suns sets or BEFORE it rises.
