How Do You Ship Media Mail Without Standing In Line At The Post Office, Using The Automated Postal Center?

1

This article shows you how to mail media (books, music, CD, records, DVDs) using the US Postal Service’s automated postage machines, which do not actually offer a “media mail” postage option. This will allow you to ship media mail inexpensively, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without standing in line. Once you’ve prepared, sealed, and addressed your package, mark it as “media mail” using a permanent ink marker. You can use the Automated Postal Center (APC), to weigh your package. Choose “ship a package” and go forward in the selections until it gives the weight of your package, and make a note of it. Then back out to the beginning of the APC menu. Once you have the weight of your package, at the Automated Postal Center, select “Buy stamps”. Select “Buy a different value stamp”. Enter amount based on the current media mail postage rates: Weight Not Over (Pounds) Price 1 $2.38 2 $2.77 3 $3.16 4 $3.55 5 $3.94 6 $4.33 7 $4.72 8 $5.11 9 $5.50 10 $5.89 11 $6.28 12 $6.67 13 $7.06 14 $7.45 15
