How Do You Shine Marble & Stone Floors?
Marble and stone floors can be rather difficult to keep clean. Because marble and stone are porous and prone to staining, it is important to keep the floors maintained on a regular basis. Without regular maintenance, the floors can become stained to the point of being permanently damaged. Sweep the floor thoroughly, removing any visible debris. Then mop the floor with warm water. Empty the mop bucket of water and run a new bucket of warm water. Add a small amount of ammonia to remove any of the dirt, dust, and debris that is not visible to the naked eye. Mop the floor and then rinse with clean, warm water. Dry the floor with the soft cloths to prevent water spots. Following the manufacturer’s directions, mop the floor with the marble cleaner, and then rinse with warm water. Using the soft cloths, dry the floor again. Do not allow it to air dry. Following the directions from the manufacturer for marble polish, apply a liberal coat to the floor. Wipe any excess polish away with a soft cl
