Murray recommends sharpening the cutting blade on its mowers at least twice each year and after every 25 hours of operation. Drain the gas tank or start the mower and allow it run until it is completely out of gasoline. Put on protective gloves. Remove the spark plug wire from the spark plug. Raise the side of the lawn mower that has the spark plug and muffler. Prevent the cutting blade from turning by blocking it with a piece of wood. Remove the retaining bolt from the drive shaft by turning it counter-clockwise with the 9/16″ socket. Separate the retaining bolt, Belleville washer and cutting blade.
