How Do You Sew Motorcycle Seat Covers?
Motorcycles are subject to the elements when being driven on the open road, and making a motorcycle seat cover can help protect the seat from rain and dirt. A handmade seat cover can also be a nice project for those looking to add a decorative touch to their bike. With a few tips and some basic sewing materials, even sewing novices can create a seat cover. Place a piece of tissue paper on top of the motorcycle seat you want to make the cover for. Trace the outline of seat with a pencil. Attach the tissue paper to a piece of fabric using straight pins. Fabrics like terry cloth or muslin work well for this project. Cut out the shape of the motorcycle seat from the fabric using the tracing as a guide. While cutting, leave an extra 1/2 inch of fabric around the edge of the shape for seam allowance. Fold over the the entire perimeter of the fabric cutout and pin in place. Slide a piece of thin elastic into the pocket created, and sew down the edge on the sewing machine, making sure the ends
