How Do You Sew Couch Pillow Covers?
There are two ways to create couch pillow covers and it really isn’t as hard as some would think it is. The difficulty really depends on how much sewing you have done, and what size and shape the pillows are. Determine if you want to cover existing pillows or if you need to make new ones. For existing pillows: If you can remove the original cover, do so. Place pillow form on the backside of chosen fabric and trace the outline of the pillow onto the fabric with your marking implement 3/4 of an inch larger than the pillow size. Repeat. You should have two pieces, front and back. For new pillows: Measure out the size you want on the backside of the fabric adding a 3/4 inch all around. Repeat. You should have two pieces, front and back. Place the fabric front to front and pin both sides together, leaving one side open. Cover should be inside out. For existing pillows: Test fit the cover on the existing pillow and make any adjustments for the best fit. For new pillows: Add a little stuffing
