How Do You Sew A Throw Blanket?
Whether you are decorating a formal living room or a casual one, a throw blanket is a wonderful addition. Sewing one takes very little time and sewing skills. Use fabrics you have purchased especially for the decor of the room or fabric you bought on impulse because it made you feel good. Don’t forget the trim. There are a wide range of styles to choose from. Fringes, ribbons, braids or cords are all options that can enhance the style you want to achieve. Measure and trim the ends of the two yard lengths to match. If trimming and alterations make the pieces shorter than two yards, that is OK, as long as the front and the back are the same measurement. Layer the two pieces of the throw blanket together with the right sides facing on a flat surface, and pin. Sew a 1/2-inch seam allowance around the edges of the throw blanket, leaving a 10-inch opening for turning. Press the seams open. Trim the seam allowance from the backing fabric to a scant 1/4 inch. Leave the top fabric at a 1/2-inch
