Roman blinds are simple and elegant window treatments that can be used alone or in conjunction with other window treatments, such as cornices, valances and side curtains. Roman blinds filter light, as well provide insulation from heat loss in the winter and heat gain from the sun in the summer. Roman blinds are operated by pull cords that cause the fabric blinds to fold when pulled up and lay straight against the window frame when down. Measure the length from above the window trim down to the top of the window sill. For windows that do not have sills, measure to the bottom of the window. Measure the width of the window from the outside of the window trim. Draw a sketch of the window and write the measurements on the sketch.
