How Do You Sew A Blanket Stitch Edge By Hand?

0

Once you learn the blanket stitch, you’ll want to edge every blanket, scarf and jacket you have. It’s simple, decorative and fun to do while you’re watching TV, sitting in the stands at a child’s sports event or engaged in conversation. Bring the needle up from the underside of the fabric on the edge you wish the stitches to cover. Hold the thread or yarn down with your thumb. Insert the needle at a point above the edge that is as long as you wish the stitches to be. Bring the needle back up through the fabric at the edge again. Draw the needle through and over the loop of thread. It creates a picket fence-like stitch. Repeat the steps until the edge is covered all the way around.
