How Do You Set Windows Media Player As Default?
If you so choose, you have the option to set Windows Media Player as the “default” program for a specific file type. What this means is that if you double-click on a specific type of computer media file, it will automatically begin to play in Windows Media Player. Windows includes tools that allow you to perform this task in just a few seconds. Right-click on the media file type that you’d like to set Windows Media Player as the default media player for. Click “Open With…” Click “Choose Default Program.” Select “Windows Media Player” from the list. Click “OK.” Windows Media Player will open and play your media file, and it will also simultaneously make itself the default media player for that type of file.
