How Do You Set Up Wireless Surround Sound Speakers?
Wireless surround-sound speakers operate with transmitters that send a radio signal from the home theater system to the satellite speakers. As long as the speakers are within the manufacturer’s recommended range of the transmitter, the units can be placed virtually anywhere. Weather-resistant models are also available for outdoor use, such as on a patio. The transmitter for a pair of wireless speakers connects directly to the home theater receiver with short lengths of speaker wire. Cut two lengths of speaker wire for each pair of wireless speakers and strip 1/2 inch of insulation from each end. Make sure you cut the wires long enough to reach from the surround-sound terminals on the back of your receiver to the place where you will be locating the transmitter unit. Connect the two strands on one end of each wire to the surround-sound terminals on the back of the AV receiver.
