How Do You Set Up The Tripod For A Meade Altazimuth-Cassegrain Telescope?
The Meade DSX-90 telescope comes with a versatile tripod for use on uneven and rough terrain. You can adjust for this by extending or spreading the tripod legs with the lock knobs and spreader bar: two key components of the tripod. To set up the tripod, follow the steps below. Take the tripod out of its packaging. Stand the tripod on one leg. Grab the other two legs and pull out until all the legs are completely extended. Thread the lock knobs near the foot of each tripod leg. There are 6 in all…2 per leg. These lock knobs are to adjust the height of the tripod’s inner, extendible leg sections. Remove the threaded bar from the tripod head. Slide the spreader bar onto the threaded rod. Place the threaded rob back through the tripod head. Place the “C” clip into the threaded rod slot. This should be attached to the threaded rod in a small plastic bag. Line up the thre arms of the spreader bar with the three legs of the tripod.
