How Do You Set Up Reptile Tank?

0

An aquarium can provide an ideal natural environment for a small reptile. Your aquarium size can vary from small (to fit on a desk) to large (100 gallons). The size will depend on your pet. Place sand or gravel in bottom of tank. Add plants at this time. They can be in small container or directly in the sand. Place rocks for hiding and climbing places for your pet. Also pick a corner to place the water bowl. Place your ultraviolet light over the top of the aquarium and make sure there are not places for your pet to climb out.Turn the light on for a few hours in the day. Turn the light off at night and if you are not going to be home for a few days. Choose your reptile. Small snakes, geckos, skinks, newts, frogs, turtles, iguanas and chameleons all make great pets. If you choose a frog or turtle, you will have to increase the size of your water bowl, or build an island of rocks and sand in the middle and add water to cover a few inches so the pet can take a swim.
