Setting up central channel speakers properly is important because they will be carrying all of the dialogue. Each home theater system is going to have different procedures, but here are some general pointers for getting your central channel speakers sounding the best. Keep your viewing location in mind. You’ll want the sound to be focused on the spot where you’ll be doing most of your viewing and listening. Put your central channel speaker directly above or below the TV or projector. Keep the speaker centered with the screen. Measure from the speaker to the receiver. Cut the speaker wire to the necessary length. Leave about 6 to 8 inches of slack in case you ever need to move the speaker. Using a sharp knife or wire strippers, remove about 1/2 inch of the plastic coating on the wire so as to expose the metal. Plug the speaker wires into the red and white inputs on the speaker.
