How Do You Set Up DJ Turntables?
Turntables are necessities for any good DJ. They allow the DJ to play music, “scratch” the records or make the music play at different speeds. Learning how to properly set up the equipment is one of your top priorities. This includes plugging in all the components and using the right cables. Place the turntables on a flat surface, with the mixer in between the two. You can also use slip proof mats if your area is uneven, but most DJs don’t use them. Lay a rubber mat on top of the turntable followed by a plastic mat and the regular mat. These mats are shaped exactly like a record and come standard with the turntables. Match the colored ends of the cables with the different slots or outputs on the back of the mixer. Attach the cables to their matching slots.
