How Do You Set Up A Tropical Aquarium?
Setting up a tropical aquarium is not difficult with the right knowledge. Without the correct information, a badly set up tropical aquarium could kill your fish. Read these steps for how to set up a tropical aquarium before attempting to set it up. Once you have read everything thoroughly, then begin! With your tank empty, wipe it down with a new or clean rag and water. If you have a new tank, remove all packing debris. If you have a used tank, clean up all debris from previous fish and water. Never use any cleaning chemicals. Rinse all items that will be in your tank under hot water. This includes all plants, decorations and gravel. Place your tank out of direct sunlight and add the gravel. Gravel should be 1.5 to 2 inches thick while covering the entire bottom. Attach the air tubing to your air stone, bubble curtain or other aeration device and bury it in the gravel. Then, run the tube up and out of the tank and connect to air pump.
